Flyers at Islanders 7pm EST

The Islanders have lost 6 in a row, and many of them in crushing fashion. The Islanders have given up 29 goals in their last 6 games including a 6-1 drubbing at the hands of the Flyers last Saturday night. It got ugly at the end and we expect tonight to be chippy as well. The more chippy the game is, the more it lends to the Flyers who are a much tougher and physical team.

To make matters worse for the Islanders, they have beat the Flyers just once in their last 17 meetings. After watching the Islanders during this 6 game losing streak, you keep thinking they will come back with a hard and tough effort after a few butt kickings, but they haven't. They look deader than they have under Scott Gordon and we wonder if players have stopped playing for him, or if they don't like playing in front of Rick Dipietro.

Dwayne Roloson is the confirmed starter tonight and unless he stands on his head and makes saves like Jesus, the Islanders are in serious trouble.

Lock of the week: Philadelphia -150.

  1. As an Islander fan, It's 12:36pm and I already started drinking for tonight's game. It's going to be ugly.

  3. I don't know what to think anymore. Is Gordon terrible? Did Snow make bad draft choices? I look at other rosters and teams like Carolina and Ottawa don't jump out at me being that much better than the Isles. I don't know, on drink #2. Good thing im not driving tonight.

  5. Someone at Sureshot believed the Islanders were better than the NY Rangers earlier in the year.I guess that Sureshot member was a big believer in Prop 19 and 'started before the bill passed' in a big way.Don't bogart that joint my friend.....

  6. The Rangers have just 5 more points and own an 0-1 record against the Isles. The Rangers are a borderline playoff team at best and will never be more than that unless they change their ideologoy.

  7. With all due respect Mr Sureshot, how is that ideology working out on Long Island lately? They say you got to hit rock bottom and get really bad before you can get good, but you guys are taking this to a new level!

  8. What exactly have the Rangers accomplished since 1994 that gives you the right to kick and other teams fans when they are down?

  9. We stink too.....but not as bad as the stink coming from the Island.Maybe I'm bitter at Islander fans cause I had to listen to that 1940 chant for 20 years leading up to the 94' Cup....
