They all seem to be forgetting that the Rangers have a certain Cup worthy Swede in goal who when he finally gets a real defense in front of him will be a lock for his first Vezina trophy. Henrik Lundqvist alone makes the Rangers playoff contenders. He single handedly brought a team of smoke and mirrors into the playoffs two years ago and brought the Ovechkin led Capitals to the brink of elimination in a seven game series. Add in a revamped offense and a defense that has ridded itself of its single biggest liability and one cannot help but think the Rangers are a significantly improved team. They now finally have legitimate secondary scoring in Alex Frolov and are looking for contributions on the third line from Derek Stepan and Ruslan Fedetanko. The defense has another year of maturity as Michael Del Zotto enters his sophomore season with the keys to the power play in tow.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4814937201960148781.post-89336529389700030472010-10-09T07:06:09.162-07:002010-10-09T07:06:09.162-07:00If Neiderreiter was one week younger, he would be ...If Neiderreiter was one week younger, he would be in next years draft as one of the top picks.RXGOLFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08523370682368460836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4814937201960148781.post-59342902346224707592010-10-09T07:04:58.308-07:002010-10-09T07:04:58.308-07:00Besides Gaborik and Lundqvist, how are the Rangers...Besides Gaborik and Lundqvist, how are the Rangers any good? They are the same team as last year with no upside besides Staal. Gaborik has never played two full seasons in a row and without him you are screwed. The Isles defense is better this year without Streit and when he comes back, they will be a solid group. If the Rangers stay healthy, they will be higher. It's said in the blog. I'm not the only one who thinks they aren't going anywhere this year.RXGOLFhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08523370682368460836noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4814937201960148781.post-7067321306662297982010-10-08T19:26:18.941-07:002010-10-08T19:26:18.941-07:00This might be....no make that is.....the most bias...This might be....no make that is.....the most biased sports blog since computers and the internet were invented. It was obviously written by an ISLANDER fan.Two of your top three players are starting the season in street clothes, you have a goaltender that hasn't played as much as a third of a season in a few years and you have a team that has no depth whatsoever and you have the cohones (gonads/balls)to rank the NY Islanders ahead of the NY RANGERS.You talk about possible RANGER injuries when your team is already a walking hospital ward.Islander fans do make you laugh...they all think Nino Neiderreiter will make hockey fans forget about Crosby or Ov.I do think the ISLANDERS will finish in front of the RANGERS in one area (again)......the annual better draft choice!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
